Razer Naga 2012 Edition

Product Website

81/100 – PC Gamer UK, October 2012

It’s a big improvement, even though I still find the 12 macro buttons tricky to distinguish by touch alone.

90/100 – Performance Award – HardwareHeaven

With the Naga 2012 Razer has improved the options available to gamers in the Naga family and it is very hard now to imagine there being a consumer who can’t find a version that suits them. From wired to wireless, soft touch to hard coating, matt to gloss, blue to green to beyond, solid sided to changeable grips, MOBA/FPS(with mechanical buttons) to MMO… even Star Wars Branded… a hugely flexible and impressive product.

80/100 – Editor’s Choice – Laptop Magazine

The Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse offers 17 programmable buttons, fast navigation and hours of comfortable use.

90/100 – PCWorld

Is a 17-button mouse overkill? Probably. But you’d be hard-pressed to find a quality pro-gaming mouse for the price that gives you more features than the Razer Naga.

80/100 – ThinkComputers

So let’s review: right handed mouse, 17 buttons, matte black on gloss black, blue lighting effects, sleeved cable, gold USB connector, and amazingly fast and accurate response. Sounds like the perfect mouse to me! Yet then there’s no left or right scrolling, page forward and backwards buttons with awkward placement, that pesky back-lit Razer symbol does fade in and out only, and finally glitchy software. As usual in the tech world there is most always a Mr. Hyde to Dr. Jekyll. The question is who wins in the end?  In the case of the Razer Naga, Dr. Jekyll takes the prize hands down! I have been testing this mouse long term now for around 8 months and would recommend the Naga to most anyone (lefties not included, sorry).

80/100 – Game Guru

As much as it is difficult to get a hold of the functionalities of the Razer Naga 2012 Edition, it’s equally as effortless to wield it once you do. It’s packed with extraordinary features, one of them being its 5600dpi laser sensor which works perfectly fine when pushed to the maximum. Its feet are slick no matter what surface they’re made to glide on, and this makes the mouse feel extremely comfortable in your hands. As far as looks are concerned, the green lighting theme suits its shape well, but we still reminisce the color changing options that were available with the initial Naga Epic. Here’s our score for this new entry to Razer’s immense portfolio of gaming peripherals.

60/100 – PC Magazine

The Razer Naga Hex gaming mouse introduces plenty of changes to the button-studded Naga line, like an intuitive hexagonal arrangement of buttons, but not all of the changes are good.

76/100 – GamingOgre

No matter your preference, the Naga is a solid mouse for both MMO gaming and regular web functions – though I’m not sure I’d recommend the Naga for fast-paced gaming such as LoL or Starcraft 2. The small hitch I have isn’t THAT big of a deal, but it’s been enough to lose a critical team fight on more than one occasion because the mouse seemed to have a slight delay in registering my clicks. Could that be hardware/software fault, or simply something I’ve just dreamed up as an excuse because I suck? It’s possible. Still, aside from my issues, the Naga will definitely serve those who need an array of buttons available at the thumb like a champ.
