MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti Power Edition 2GB

Product Website

80/100 – Maximum PC, November 2012

We like the MSI card a lot and it’s clearly the fastest in this group. But we don’t like the fact that it’s also the loudest, and its accessories “bundle” is severely lacking.

93/100 – Best Performance Award! – TweakTown

Straight away we see MSI offer the GTX 660 Ti under the Power Edition tag. That’s only good for consumers as they work their magic tweaking this brand new model from NVIDIA, which is bound to cause issues for AMD.

89/100 – Approved – bit-tech

The GTX 660 Ti 2GB is still a strong card, but with board partners adding overclocks and custom coolers, pricing is straying closer to the £300 mark of the GTX 670 2GB than the £200 everyone is happier to spend their money at. It’s a still a solid card though, but whether its price remains too high for your budget is something you’ll need to decide yourself.

93/100 – Golden Tachometer Award – Benchmark Reviews

This card’s standout performance was amazing. In some tests it’s faster than cards that cost $100 to $200 more, and on a dollar-per-FPS basis there’s really no comparison. NVIDIA’s biggest problem with this card is that it will make even those who can easily afford a GTX670 wonder whether it’s worth it to spend the extra money.

97/100 – Editor’s Choice – TechPowerUp

Overall, MSI did an excellent job improving on the NVIDIA reference design, resulting in a significantly better card. The card’s price of $330 is the same as all other GTX 660 Ti cards we reviewed today. At that price the card easily beats AMD’s HD 7950 in all important criteria: performance, power, noise, heat, performance per Dollar, performance per Watt. A lower price, around the $300 mark would put more pressure on AMD though, and would make the card more interesting for the group of gamers shopping in the $250-$300 range.

100/100 – Editor’s Choice – Pure Overclock

We continue to be impressed by NVIDIA’s Kepler products, and the GTX 660 Ti is an unassuming performance monster, at a price point that we think gamers can really latch onto. And MSI has done an excellent job with this particular card, offering consumers plenty of smart and value-added features for a very small price premium. Another big winner here.

85/100 – HardwareZone

Overall, if you’re in the market for a custom edition GeForce GTX 660 Ti, you really can’t go wrong with the MSI Twin Frozr IV Power Edition. It’s probably not the cheapest and can’t outgun certain special offers, but apart from those, MSI’s GeForce GTX 660 Ti Twin Frozr IV Power Edition comes highly recommended.

90/100 – Silver Bear Award – Bjorn3D

The GTX 660 Ti is a force to be reckoned with and we have seen many cards from many manufacturers. Most cards arrived as the top model of the 660 Ti line, but MSI chose a more modest approach with a card that is clocked below the others. We knew it wouldn’t wipe the floor with the other combatants, but the possibility of a 660 Ti HAWK Edition might level the playing field a bit more.
